This morning we started our day reflecting on the word comment and then connecting it a blog post.
In our learning journals we brainstormed on the following...
After that we collaborated and shared with our partners our ideas. Here are some examples of what we came up with!
Then we were asked to read a post called the Ultimate Popcorn Recipe by a nine year old blogger and wrote down a comment for it. This is what a few of us said...
As a whole class we came up with the following:
Then we decided to make sure our comments were positive and gave constructive feedback to the blogger rather than negative sounding and short comments.
As a class we are following the Praise, Question, Polish (PQP) format that helps us write more detailed and constructive comments to bloggers about their posts.
- Praise- Say something positive about the post
- Question- Ask about something that the post made you think of
- Polish- Constructive feedback so the blogger can improve on his or her post
Check out just how much our comments improved!
